Former Brazilian president says pandemic would be less severe if Cuban doctors were still Brazil.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff expressed her gratitude to Cuban health professionals who participated in the founding of the «Mais Medicos» («More Doctors») program, which brought health care to the nation’s most remote communities.

Rousseff said that «if the Cuban doctors were still around, Brazil would be in a better position to face this difficult moment.»

DECLARATION OF THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HEALTH

The Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba, committed to the solidarity and humanist principles that have guided Cuba’s medical cooperation for 55 years, has been participating in Brazil’s “More Doctors” program since its inception in August of 2013. This initiative launched by Dilma Rousseff, who was at that time the president of the Federal Republic of Brazil, pursued the noble purpose of guaranteeing medical assistance to the majority of the Brazilian people, following the principle of universal health coverage promoted by the World Health Organization

Recientemente el diario digital Martínoticias, con base en Miami, ha difundido noticias sobre las inconformidades de grupos brasileños con la presencia de médicos cubanos en el gigante sudamericano.

Para ello, “el periodista” Enrique Aguado, autor del artículo, se apoya en cierta encuesta publicada por el Consejo Regional de Medicina de Sao Paulo. Según la pesquisa no se está cumpliendo los protocolos fijados para el Programa “Mas Médicos”. A partir de esto, reporta protestas e inconformidades de la comunidad médica brasileña.
