Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has called the United States government immoral, arrogant and perverse for its escalation of hostility against the people of the Caribbean nation.
“The imperial government is applying new sanctions that affect the Cuban people, while the American people are being harshly hit by the pandemic and racist repression,” the Cuban leader remarked on his personal Twitter account. With the tag #NoMoreBlocking and a photo with the phrase “Sanctions are a crime,” the president said that in Cuba, no one surrenders.

The Interreligious Platform of Cuba has released a statement repudiating the most recent hostile actions of the United States against our country as well as Washington’s blockade of the island.
The religious movement, which includes the seven religions established across the country, expressed its indignation of the “unjust” inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries that “do not cooperate with anti-terrorist efforts” shortly after the attack on its embassy in Washington, DC.
WASHINGTON has come under fire for blocking much-needed medical supplies from reaching Cuba for a second time, with Swiss groups branding the six-decade-long economic blockade “a criminal act.”
The aid had been collected by the Swiss solidarity group MediCuba Switzerland and had been intended for Covid-19 patients on the socialist island.

There is a growing worldwide demand to end the US blockade of Cuba to help the international battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
Politicians, international organisations, governments and millions of people across the globe are now calling on the United States to lift its blockade of Cuba at this time of worldwide crisis. The central demand is a humanitarian one — it is now time for co-operation across borders not aggression and blockade.
While Cuban medical collaboration is extended around the world to help contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the insane blockade imposed by the United States on our country, has just denied our public health system access to two regular suppliers of ventilators, key to the care of the most serious cases of the disease.
In another twist of this genocidal, inhumane policy, the manufacturers IMTMedical AG and Acutronic, announced the end of commercial relations with Cuba, after the companies were acquired by the U.S. firm Vyaire Medical Inc.
Cuban health officials on Friday denied a statement made by Washington diplomats, who said the United States sold medicines to the island last year, and once again rejected sanctions in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic.
“The blockade has a great impact on the daily life of the population,” said Dr. Lázaro Silva, vice president of Medicuba, the state-owned company that imports health supplies, during an interview with The Associated Press.
The Cuban ambassador to China, Carlos Miguel Pereira, denounced Wednesday that the economic, financial and commercial blockade by the United States prevents the Alibaba company from making a donation to the island to combat the COVID-19.
According to the diplomat, the U.S. firm contracted to transport to the Caribbean nation a batch of face masks and diagnostic kits of the deadly disease, at the last minute declined to make the delivery, arguing regulations of the blockade.
