Cuban president met with the executive director of IFCO-Pastors for Peace, Gail Walker

President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with the executive director of IFCO-Pastors for Peace, Gail Walker, to whom he said belongs a story of solidarity with Cuba.
In his Twitter account, the president expressed his satisfaction with the new meeting on Thursday and evoked Gail’s father, the late Reverend Lucius Walker, whom he described as a friend of Fidel Castro and Cuba.

Díaz-Canel underlined the contribution of Lucius, Gail Walker and IFCO-Pastors for Peace in the battle against the blockade exercised by the U.S. against Cuba for six decades.

In this sense, he evoked the caravans in solidarity with inputs that the economic, financial and commercial siege denies the Cubans.

Gail Walker received the commemorative medal here for the 60th Anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).

We will make Cuba’s image even bigger in the United States and the world, said the activist at that ceremony.

She affirmed that in almost 30 years the Pastors for Peace caravans overcame the obstacles of the blockade on the island.

She also stressed that the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) -Pastors for Peace strives hard to achieve this goal. ‘We are all united when it comes to a single objective of solidarity with Cuba.’
