A pesar del bloqueo, Cuba salvará vidas en Estados Unidos.

Nace Innovative Immunotherapy Alliance SA, la primera empresa biotecnológica cubana- estadounidense. El Gobernador del Estado de Nueva York, Andrew Cuomo, anunció el acuerdo entre Roswell Park y el Centro de Inmunología Molecular.

A pesar de las trabas que impone el bloqueo contra Cuba, centros científicos de ambos países lograron un acuerdo para introducir en Estados Unidos la vacuna cubana contra el cáncer de pulmón, Cimavax-EGF, una de las pocas opciones disponibles en el mundo para controlar la mortífera enfermedad.

El Gobernador del Estado de Nueva York, Andrew Cuomo, anunció el acuerdo entre el Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center y el Centro de Inmunología Molecular, como el primer proyecto conjunto de biotecnología entre Cuba y Estados Unidos para la lucha contra el cáncer.

Statement by the President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel in Nelson Mandela Peace Summit at UNGA

Mrs. President:

We are so happy and take comfort in the fact that the United Nations General Assembly is convening a peace summit, and that such summit has been named after Nelson Mandela.

Less than 30 years ago, beloved Madiba was a political prisoner in the apartheid jails, serving a life sentence as a result of his noble struggle for justice and equality among all men and women in South Africa, where a white minority was subjecting the black majority to the scorn of segregation.

We do not forget that during the dark apartheid years and even long after being elected President, Mandela and the most brilliant and honest African freedom fighters were still kept on lists of alleged terrorists.

Cuba is honored to recall that we shared in their struggles, on the first line of combat, together with its African brothers and sisters from Angola and Namibia.

En ocasión de celebrarse la Cumbre de la Paz “Nelson Mandela” en la ONU, Cubadebate y el sitio Fidel Soldado de las Ideas comparten algunas imágenes de Fidel Castro junto a ese gran hombre de Sudáfrica y del mundo.

Sobre él Fidel Castro expresó:

“Fue un hombre íntegro, revolucionario profundo y radicalmente socialista, que con gran estoicismo soportó 27 años de encarcelamiento solitario. Yo no dejaba de admirar su honradez, su modestia y su enorme mérito”.

Trinidad, the place to experience Cuba’s diversity

Trinidad boasts four of the six principal tourist destinations in the province of Sancti Spíritus, in the center of the island. It is not only one of the best preserved colonial cities in the Caribbean, but also offers the beach at Ancón, one of the most popular on the southern coast of Cuba, as well as natural sites like Topes de Collantes and the Valle de los Ingenios, declared a World Heritage Site in 1988 by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science, and Culture (UNESCO), along with the city.

The New York Times tells Donald Trump to leave Venezuela alone.

With the article, “Stay out of Venezuela, Mr. Trump”, the editorial committee of the New York Times has appealed to the US President to stop his conspiracies and refrain from participating in a coup d’état against Nicolas Maduro, by rejecting military action against Venezuela.
